to do an lj cut is pretty easy. keep in mind you need to take out the ** wherever i have put them. if you don't it won't be under a cut. <lj-cut*text="*read more"> there should be a space in between cut and text. you can replace read more with whatever you want it to say. if you want to write something after the cut, you end it with <*/lj-cut*>
